LIAISON® FSH

In vitro assay for the quantitative determination of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH; follitropin) in human serum as well as citrated plasma for the fertility diagnostics of both sexes. The test has to be performed on the LIAISON® Analyzer family.

LIAISON® Prolactin

In vitro assay for the quantitative determination of prolactin in human serum and plasma. The test has to be performed on the LIAISON® Analyzer family.

LIAISON® LH

In vitro assay for the quantitative determination of luteinising hormone (LH; lutropin) in human serum as well as EDTA plasma for fertility diagnostics of both sexes. The test has to be performed on the LIAISON® Analyzer family.

LIAISON® Prolactin xt

In vitro assay for the quantitative determination of prolactin in human serum and plasma. The test has to be performed on the LIAISON® Analyzer family.

LIAISON® Progesterone

The LIAISON® Progesterone Assay is a chemiluminescent immunoassay (CLIA) to be used with the LIAISON® Analyzer, for the quantitative determination of progesterone in human serum and plasma. This assay is to be used to monitor ovulation for in vitro fertilization (IVF) and predict IVF success.

LIAISON® Testosterone

The LIAISON® Testosterone Assay is a direct, competitive, chemiluminescence immunoassay (CLIA) intended for the quantitative determination of testosterone in human serum and plasma. The assay is intended for in vitro diagnostic use

LIAISON® Estradiol

The DiaSorin LIAISON® Estradiol assay is a chemiluminescent immunoassay (CLIA) to be used with the LIAISON® Analyzer, intended for the quantitative determination of estradiol in human serum and plasma (EDTA). Assay results should be used in conjunction with other clinical and laboratory data to assist in the diagnosis and management of conditions involving an excess or deficiency of estradiol.

LIAISON® HCG

LIAISON® HCG is in vitro assay for the quantitative determination of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG and βhCG) in human serum. The test has to be performed on the LIAISON® Analyzer only.

LIAISON® XL HCG

LIAISON® XL HCG is in vitro assay for the quantitative determination of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG and βhCG) in human serum. The test has to be performed on the LIAISON® XL Analyzer only. 

 

 

Dysfunction of the reproductive axis can be due to inappropriate secretion of the related hormones. In males and females the proper functions can be investigated through the determination of the principal parameters for example LH and FSH.
These hormones are secreted by the pituitary gland wich stimulate the testis and ovary to produce additional hormones such as Testosteronefor production of spermatozoa, Estradiol and Progesterone to make the ovulum available for a possible fecundation and prepare the uterus for the implantation of the embryo. Monitoring of the correct implantation of the embryo and its growth can be performed during the first 3 months with hCG, which is an hormone secreted by the syncytium trophoblast in women (this tissue is not present in males). Increased levels of hCG in males can be due to the presence of germinoma, a very aggressive cancer of the testis.
Prolactin level icrease during pregnancy, peaking immediately after delivery and is needed to stimulate the milk production in the breast to feed the newborn.  In males its presence is related to abnormal sexual characteristics.
