Main Responsibilities
The position of Molecular Applications Specialist (MAS) - Dallas will build high-impact client relationships through effective training of clients in a defined geographic area, expediting the assay implementation process for accelerating revenue generation, and assisting field sales with organic revenue growth from current and prospective customers. The results of effective MAS efforts will be measured in the number of clients effectively trained on Luminex technology, the level of customer satisfaction, speed to "go-live" on new assay implementations, overall customer retention, and the organic revenue growth created by the collaboration with the Luminex Molecular Business Managers (Sales) in the life science and clinical diagnostic markets. The MAS will report directly to the appropriate Area Manager, Molecular Applications.
Qualifications Experience Personal Strengths Mobility
The MAS will handle all aspects of delivering scientific applications and technology training associated with Luminex software/hardware, assay development, on-site troubleshooting, Luminex IVD Kits, MultiCode-RTx technology and ARIES® systems. This individual will also be responsible for staying current on the latest scientific uses of the Luminex technology, including current and new products. Training will be delivered at Luminex Training Centers and onsite locations to ensure Luminex customers, partners, and employees benefit from the learning and educational experience. Field travel could be heavy at times based on workload demands.
The position will directly interface with Luminex customers (both internal and external) and partners, other Molecular Applications Specialists, and the Training Coordinator. This position will also interface with field-based Molecular Business Managers (Sales), Training Instructional Designers, and the Manager of Global Training and Development. Subject Matter Experts (SME) from various organizations within Luminex will often collaborate with Molecular Applications Specialists on special projects.
Bachelor's Degree degree in Biology or a related field, focus in molecular technologies, or at least 4 years of equivalent experience. preferred
Experience Qualifications
4+ Years Practical experience with molecular biology techniques especially Real Time PCR (qPCR). required
4+ Years of relevant work experience required
4+ Years Strong understanding of nucleic acid assays, especially Real Time PCR (qPCR) required
4+ Years Experience in technical application training required
4+ Years Experience in hands-on laboratory work involving nucleic acid assays required
4+ Years Experience working independently in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities required
4+ Years Experience with Luminex instrumentation an asset required
4+ Years Practical experience with molecular biology and enzyme reactions required
4+ Years Molecular diagnostic experience preferred
4+ Years Clinical laboratory experience an asset; molecular diagnostics preferred
Training and Skills
Ability to operate remotely and independently with travel as needed to carry out primary responsibilities
Ability to analyze and troubleshoot issues related to system performance and use
Strong team player -- the role will interact with a number of cross-functional teams so collaborative and open communication is essential
Excellent communication (verbal and written), presentation, facilitation, research, problem solving, and organizational skills - with customers, peers and management, both in-person and on the phone
Ability to be a self-starter and independent worker, allowing for continual learning and growth in order to successfully fulfill job requirements
Excellent organizational & time-management skills, with focus on accuracy, attention to detail, and timely record keeping
Clear understanding of essential concepts of molecular and protein assays and GLP
