Main Responsibilities
This position supports the Facility department in the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of all building systems and equipment. The engineer will be expected to coordinate and complete all service requests for work, assign priorities, delegate to appropriate contractors, if required, and follow up on completion. In particular, the Lead Engineer will be expected to perform routine maintenance and repairs of all HVAC, boilers, heating, refrigeration, and water and energy management systems to ensure the effective operation of the facility.

Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and document; all facility related equipment including boilers, chillers, pumps, valves, cooling tower, air handlers, rooftops, VAV’s, air compressors, pneumatic systems, plumbing, industrial RO water systems, generators, electrical, mechanical, basic refrigeration systems.
Operate, maintain and repair building management systems, including end devices.
Operate, maintain and repair life safety systems (fire alarm and sprinkler).
Operate, maintain and repair sanitary sewer systems, pumps, toilets, urinals, piping, etc.
Coordinate and schedule contractors if required to fix problems as needed.
Manage external contractors – building and grounds
Serve as part of the on-call team for after hours.
Other duties may be assigned based upon departmental or DiaSorin business needs.
• 5+ years commercial building operation maintenance and troubleshooting
• Minimum of 2nd class C boilers license or higher
• Knowledgeable in energy management systems, techniques and operations
• Knowledgeable in Life safety systems
• Basic knowledge of electricity and the use of a volt meter
• Excellent interpersonal communications skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization and outside contractors
• Knowledge of and demonstrated skill in Direct Digital Control (DDC) system operations
• Mechanical skills
• Knowledge of basic Programmable Logic Control (PLC) system operations
• Knowledge of the basic operation and maintenance of High Purity Water Systems
Work environment — Occasional exposure to; temperature extremes, high noise levels, interior and exterior environments
Physical demands — Include bending, sitting, lifting, being on a ladder, occasionally lifting 50 pounds
Regularly moves in and around the workplace; will be required to regularly use a ladder, work in confined spaces.
PPE clothing will need to be worn when entering the lab (Chemical resistant clothing/gloves, safety glasses, lab coat, and surgical gloves).
Perform preventative maintenance, repair, and calibration necessary to result in facilities and production equipment that is in good working condition, in accordance with corporate policies and in compliance with GMP and the DiaSorin Quality Policy.
Understand and utilize documentation protocols, and accurately and legibly complete all documentation on time to result in a product/process history consistent with GMP requirements and the DiaSorin Quality Policy.
Conduct regular inspections of buildings to identify interior and exterior maintenance and repair needs
Participate/Lead in continuous improvement projects
Perform work in a safe manner consistent with DiaSorin’s Environmental, Health, and Safety policies. Assume responsibility for personal safety and that of co-workers to result in a safe work environment for all employees and the protection of the environment and the community at large.
