Job Scope

Your Mission

The Field Application Scientist is the field-based expert for the LIAISON MDX and analysis software as well as the DiaSorin Molecular test kits and reagents. They will work closely with Sales, Scientific Affairs, Marketing, and at times interface closely with R&D, and other members of the Technical Service group to support customer needs in a proactive manner. This position can be seated in Dallas, Houston, Phoenix, or Denver.

Your Contributions

Provide this support through on-site training, implementations, backup to the Field Service Engineers.

Qualifications Experience Personal Strengths Mobility

Molecular Diagnostics

PhD strongly preferred
Masters with minimum 2 years industry or laboratory experience
Bachelors with minimum 5 years industry or laboratory experience
Other candidates will be considered with equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in capital equipment is preferred

Technical Competencies

Thorough understanding of microbiology, immunology and testing for infectious disease with an emphasis on molecular diagnostics
Established presentation and training skills preferred
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public


Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics, especially in the areas of epidemiological and population statistics such as sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive values, etc.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Ability to manage client expectations; anticipate client requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must
Strong interpersonal skills with an outgoing personality
Self-motivated with a professional and engaged demeanor
Organized with attention to detail
Computer literate with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Google / Gmail platform

Fluent spoken and written English
