Key competences
Core competence in self-sufficient manufacturing of rare reagents required for ELISA and ICE product coating, including materials for plate-coating and conjugates manufacturing. These include: mammalian cell culture for the production and purification of monoclonal antibodies, bioreactor growth of bacteria and insect cells for the production of antigens, fermentation of insect cell culture to produce antigens with baculovirus technology, strong biochemistry expertise for the labeling (conjugation of antigens and antibodies) and for the purification of biological raw material. Raw material to finished good supply chain management including purchasing, planning, packing, and shipping.

Site and business (Murex Biotech Ltd) acquired by Abbott in 1998.  Murex ELISA products and business for HIV, HTLV, hepatitis B, and syphilis divested in June 2010 and acquired by DiaSorin S.p.A. Dartford historically was a paper-milling town and Building 71 started life as a papermill in the late 19th century.  Burroughs Wellcome started manufacturing pharmaceuticals in Dartford in 1889 after acquisition of the Phoenix Paper Mill and adapting it as their first production facility.
